ACT Operations Research proposes a set of automation and control related training courses, which combine the technical and theoretical aspect with the practical applications and experiences cumulated in more than 20 years of automation projects up to plants’ commissioning and startup:
- BASICS OF INDUSTRIAL PLANTS CONTROL
The course is addressed to engineers facing the start of an automation & control project or to the engineers coming from different background who need to know the peculiarities and criticalities of automation and control.
Duration is 2 days and the course covers the main aspects of automation and control (i.e: measurements treatment, PID functionality, automation project documentation, alarms management, control systems hardware and software)
- FUNCTIONAL SAFETY IN INDUSTRIAL PLANTS
The course is addressed to engineers that need to apply the IEC61508/61511 requirements in their projects.
Duration is 2 to 3 days depending on the required level of detail, and the main covered topics are: reliability, fail safety, hardware fault tolerance, normative lifecycle, SIL assignment, safety instrumented functions, probability of failure on demand and in general application guidelines for the main concepts expressed in the normative.
- OPERATOR TRAINING SIMULATOR: A DIFFERENT PROJECT.
The course is addressed to engineers that have to manage or need to better understand an OTS systems.
Duration is 1 day, covering an introduction to the most common OTS architectures and technical requirements, followed by a presentation of the typical execution plan of an OTS, with all the peculiarities and complexities of integrating different competencies and roles within the project.
These courses are held by trainers with a wide experience in automation and control projects in various industrial sectors, and can be executed at our offices (Rome and Gallarate-VA) or at customer’s premises.
