Rome, Italy, 18 - 20 October, 2019
ACT OR will participate in "I-RIM 3D", the 1st Italian Conference on Robotics and Intelligent Machines, organized by The National Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines (I-RIM).
The purpose of I-RIM is to promote the development and use of robotics technologies and intelligent machines for the correct management of the supply chain but also to improve the quality of life, the well-being of citizens and in general the conditions of the Company, through the development of new solutions for the assistance to people, improvement of working conditions, application transfer, economic enhancement of research, improvement of production and its sustainability
"I-RIM 3 D" is a three-day multi-dimensional event that brings together the whole community of those doing research and innovation in the field of Robotics and Intelligent Machines and will take place in Rome from 18 to 20 October 2019.
Saturday 19 October, from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm, in the Baebiana classroom, ACT OR will present a paper titled "Distributed computing architecture for high-performance applications in multi-channel food distribution", written by Franco Antonio Cavadini (Synesis Consortium), Giuseppe Confessore (National Research Council) and Raffaele Maccioni (ACT Operations Research).
The work presents a first step towards the industrial deployment of a new concept of “DevOps Framework” for optimal runtime decision making in network of CPS, based on the integration of IEC-61499, Fog Computing, and Decision Science technologies. Developed in the DAEDALUS Horizon 2020 project, the testing use-case derives from the requirements of a food multi-channel Distribution Centre (DC), typically characterized by high volume of goods, fast-processes, massive picking activity.
